
IIT Gandhinagar develops highly effective, eco-friendly anti-viral surface coating

This non-toxic surface coating can be easily applied on any of the indoor and outdoor objects like glass windows, wooden and plastic furniture, vehicles, automobiles, doorknobs, handles etc.
Viral infections and their transmission are major public health hazards, causing illnesses such as the common cold, flu, measles, and chickenpox, among others. Sometimes these viral infections can also lead to serious, possibly life-threatening complications, such as dehydration, pneumonia, and other secondary infections. With an aim to address the root cause of this health concern, a team of researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) has successfully developed an anti-viral surface coating material that is highly effective on non-pathogenic viruses and is non-toxic, environment-friendly, and transparent.
Meta has hired the team behind the agentic AI startup Dreamer. The startup was founded by former Google executives Hugo Barra, David Singleton, and Nicholas Jitkoff, who will now work on Meta's agentic AI plans.
