Pant's 747 rating points are the joint-15th highest by any India batsman, and the highest by a full-time Test wicketkeeper from his country. Meanwhile, India captain Virat Kohli has retained the 5th spot on the ICC Test Batting Rankings but the skipper's rating points of 814 is his lowest since November 2017. Rohit Sharma, who became the first opener to reach 1000 runs in the ongoing cycle of World Test Championships, climbs a spot and shares the 7th spot along with Pant and New Zealand opener Henry Nicholls.
