Baiyappanahalli Police seek bike rider who assaulted IAF Wing Commander in road rage incident near DRDO in Bengaluru, victim appeals for justice.
The Baiyappanahalli Police are on the lookout for a bike rider who assaulted an IAF pilot in front of his wife in C.V. Raman Nagar on Monday (April 18, 2025) morning, over an alleged incident of road rage.
The victim, Wing Commander Shiladitya Bose, sustained multiple injuries after being attacked with a bike key and a stone. He was on his way to the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) to fly to Kolkata to attend to a medical emergency involving his father. He left the city without filing a police complaint, but his wife Squadron Leader Madhumita, posted with DRDO in Bengaluru, filed the complaint on his behalf later. Wg. Cdr. Bose recorded a video on his mobile from the airport detailing the assault and making an emotional appeal for action against the miscreant.
In his video message, a visibly injured Wg. Cdr. Bose said his wife was dropping him to the airport from DRDO Colony in Bengaluru on April 18 morning at around 6:30 a.m. “Suddenly a bike rider came from the right side and blocked our car. He started hurling abuses at us in Kannada. He saw the DRDO sticker on the car and abused both of us saying “you DRDO people”. As I got down from the car, even before I could realise what happened he attacked me with a key on my face and I started bleeding. He later attacked me with a stone on my head,” he said.
He further expressed his dismay that the locals who gathered around did not come to their help and only a few senior citizens tried to intervene and asked the attacker to leave them alone. He said he was now worried for the safety of his wife and child staying alone in Bengaluru.
Wg. Cdr. Bose said he has the dashcam video which showed the face of the attacker and also the registration number of the bike and appealed for action against the attacker. His wife has now submitted the dashcam video, registration number of the bike and her husband’s video message as part of her complaint, police said.
