
I'm Russia's No.1 target, my family No.2: Ukraine President Zelensky vows to stay in Kyiv amid invasion

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, "[The] enemy [Russia] has marked me as the number one target. My family is the number two target." He, however, said he will stay in Ukraine capital Kyiv as his troops battled Russian invaders.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said early Friday that the "enemy", Russia, has marked him as the number one target and his family as the number two target.
"[The] enemy has marked me down as the number one target," Zelenskiy warned in a video message.
"My family is the number two target. They want to destroy Ukraine politically by destroying the head of state," Volodymyr Zelensky was quoted by Reuters as saying in a press conference early Friday.
Volodymyr Zelensky, however, said he and his family won't leave Ukraine. Zelensky vowed to stay in Kyiv as his troops battled Russian invaders who are advancing toward the capital in the biggest attack on a European state since World War Two.

"I will stay in the capital. My family is also in Ukraine," Volodymyr Zelensky said.
Russia launched its invasion by land, air and sea on Thursday following a declaration of war by President Vladimir Putin. An estimated 100,000 people fled as explosions and gunfire rocked major cities.

Speaking at the White House, Trump said the United States was in contact with "the right people" in Iran and suggested that Tehran was eager to reach an agreement to halt hostilities. "We're in negotiations right now," he told reporters, without offering further details on the scope or format of the talks.
