The Hyundai Verna rivals the likes of the Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Skoda Rapid, Toyota Yaris and Volkswagen Vento.

Hyundai Motor India has increased the prices of the Verna by up to Rs 8,700. While the Hyundai Verna was earlier priced between Rs 9,10,800 and Rs 15,19,700 (ex-showroom, Delhi), it is now available in the price range of Rs 9,19,500 to Rs 15,25,400 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Hyundai Verna boasts of three engine options -- 1.5-litre MPi petrol (115PS and 144Nm), 1.0-litre turbo-GDI petrol (120PS and 172Nm) and 1.5-litre CRDi diesel (115PS and 250Nm). The 1.5-litre MPi petrol mill can be paired either with a 6-speed MT or an IVT automatic. The 1.0-litre turbo-GDI petrol motor is mated to a 7-speed DCT automatic. The 1.5-litre CRDi diesel engine has 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT choices. At present, the mid-size sedan is available in four variants -- E, S+, SX and SX(O).
