
Huawei blamed for installing data back door in Pakistan's safe-city project

Huawei allegedly forced one of its US-based partner firms on a project to install a Data Exchange System in China, same as the one that was operating in Lahore, Pakistan.
A US-based contractor has alleged that Huawei Technologies Co pressured it to build back-door access to a law-enforcement project in Pakistan. Through this, the Chinese tech major is allegedly able to fish out sensitive information out of Pakistan, like national ID card records, tax records and more. The allegations have been made in a lawsuit filed in California district court on Wednesday. The pursuer is a California-based firm by the name of Business Efficiency Solutions LLC, or BES.
