BMW Motorrad has launched the BMW M 1000 R in India at Rs 33.5 lakh, bringing superbike-derived performance, aggressive styling, and track-focused electronics to the brand's flagship naked roadster offering.
BMW Motorrad has launched the new BMW M 1000 R in India at an introductory price of Rs 33.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The high-performance roadster will be brought to the country as a completely built-up unit (CBU), with bookings now open at authorised dealerships. Deliveries are scheduled to begin from May 2026.
The new M 1000 R represents the brand’s M performance philosophy applied to a roadster platform, combining superbike-derived engineering with a more upright riding position designed for both road and track use.
The new BMW M 1000 R features an aggressive design inspired by the brand’s RR superbike family. It gets newly designed dual-flow LED headlights derived from RR models along with a prominent M logo integrated into the air intake.
Aerodynamics play a key role in the bike’s design. The front fascia incorporates M Winglets that generate aerodynamic downforce, increasing the load on the front wheel by around 11kg at 220kmph. These winglets improve stability during high-speed riding and cornering.
Optional M Carbon wheels are available as part of the M Competition Package, highlighting the carbon fibre structure through a clear lacquer finish. Additional aerodynamic refinements include integrated brake ducts in the front mudguard to optimise airflow around the fork legs and brake calipers. The rear frame and swingarm are finished in Platinum Grey metallic across all colour options.
Powering the motorcycle is a water-cooled inline four-cylinder engine derived from the BMW S 1000 RR. The 999cc engine produces 210bhp at 13,750rpm and 113Nm of peak torque at 11,100rpm.

Screen addiction is no longer just a Gen Z problem. According to recent studies and reports, elderly are now spending just as much, if not more, time on smartphones, TVs and social media. Researchers say this rising screen time among boomers and retirees may also have serious effects on their health.

Meta is scaling back its plans for a metaverse. The Mark Zuckerberg-led firm has announced that the company will be shutting down the Horizons World app from VR by June this year. This announcement comes after the company laid off workers from the Reality Labs division that was responsible for its metaverse projects.
