India is becoming a global leader not only in production of Covid-19 vaccines but also in syringes. Many countries from across the globe including the United Nations Education and Scientific Organisation (UNESCO) are seeking to buy syringes from Indian manufacturers for Covid-19 vaccination.

At the manufacturing units of Hindustan Syringes and Medical Devices (HMD) Limited, located in Ballabgarh town of Faridabad, production of autodisable syringes, which are in high demand across the globe for Covid-19 vaccination, is on war footing with nearly 6,000 being produced each minute. Company's managing director Rajiv Nath, said he was aware of such situation since the pandemic had struck.
