Hospital beds being increased, Tamil Nadu braces for impact as second wave of Covid infections hits

Tamil Nadu is adding beds to its government hospitals in an effort to combat the second wave of Covid-19 infections. The state is looking at a shortage of medical oxygen if the Centre does not revise its quota, a top official told the Madras HC.
Chengalpattu is an industrial hub located about 63 kilometres from Chennai. On the night of May 4, the district in Tamil Nadu recorded the deaths of 10 coronavirus patients, allegedly due to the shortage of medical oxygen at a government hospital. #TamilNadu: New restrictions in place.
