Hit: The First Case witnessed a jump on Day 3 of its release. The film stars Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra in the lead roles.

Rajkummar Rao and Sanya Malhotra's HIT - The First Case is the Hindi remake of Telugu cop drama HIT. The film tells the story of a cop who is on the trail of a missing woman. Sanya Malhotra plays the female lead in the film. HIT stands for Homicide Intervention Team. The film released on July 15. Hit: The First Case saw a rather poor opening on Day 1. However, with positive word of mouth, the movie picked up on Day 3. Its total box office collection now stands at approximately Rs 5 crore, according to early trade reports.

As per early estimate figures, on Day 3, Hit: The First Case showed a big jump. If the figures are to be believed, the film is looking at almost double the opening day occupancy at multiplexes across the nation. On Day 3, the collection was reportedly Rs 2.30 crore, taking the total figure to Rs 5.58 crore. The film had earned Rs 1.35 crore on Day 1. Hit: The First Case performed better than Taapsee Pannu starrer Shabaash Mithu, which failed to do good business on its opening day. Meanwhile, HIT had an overall 16.58 per cent Hindi occupancy on Sunday, July 17.

On Day 2, the film earned a total of Rs 3.36 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#HIT: #TheFirstCase witnesses an upward trend on Day 2 [growth: 48.88%], although the 2-day total remains low... Biz needs to accelerate on Day 3 as well... Multiplexes continue to be its key contributors... Fri 1.35 cr, Sat 2.01 cr. Total: 3.36 cr. #India biz (sic)."
