Tamil Nadu Minister for Law S. Regupathy called on Governor R.N. Ravi at Raj Bhavan to discuss on the Prohibition of Online Gambling and Regulation of Online Games Bill.
Speaking to journalists after the 30-minute meeting, the Minister said Mr. Ravi assured he would take a decision on Bill against online gaming soon.
The meeting comes four days after the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Online Gambling and Regulation of Online Games Ordinance lapsed on November 27 while the Governor’s assent on the Bill is awaited. Earlier on November 25, Tamil Nadu government sent clarifications sought by the Governor on the Bill.
Explaining the reasons for attaching 117.46 acres of land and freezing four bank accounts of former Health Minister C. Vijayabaskar, the Income Tax department informed the Madras High Court that it had recovered enormous materials which prove that Mr. Vijayabaskar had received unaccounted money from manufacturers of Gutkha and also from J. Sekar Reddy’s SRS Mining.
Officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from New Delhi quizzed a 44-year-old man from Poomalaipatti in Manaparai of Tiruchi district in connection with circulation of child pornography to persons living abroad.
