Heavy rain lashes parts of Hyderabad

Intermittent heavy rainfall disrupts Hyderabad, with varying levels across different areas, as per India Meteorological Centre forecast.
Intermittent light to heavy rainfall that began at 1.40 a.m. continued to lash Hyderabad and its surrounding areas, disrupting normal life in the morning on June 12, Thursday (June 12, 2025).
The heaviest rainfall of 14.8 cm was recorded at the University of Hyderabad automatic weather station of Telangana State Development Planning Society. Similarly, the other areas in the western part of Hyderabad, like Lingampally (11.4 cm), Ramachandrapuram (2.6 cm) and Chandanagar (10.9 cm) recorded heavy rainfall till 7 a.m..
In contrast, southern, central and northern parts of Hyderabad recorded low rainfall with Secunderabad and Golconda recording (.3 cm), LB Nagar (.2 cm) and Hayatnagar (.2 cm) rainfall.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Centre, Hyderabad forecast at 7.12 a.m.: “Light to moderate Rain/Thundershowers in GHMC area during next 3 hours”.
