Haryana students from Classes 10 to 12 to get free tablets from May 5

The Haryana government will provide free tablets to students from Class 10 to Class 12 from May 5.
On Monday, an official statement informed that the Harayana government would be distributing free tablets to students from Class 10 to Class 12. These free tablets will contain preloaded content in addition to personalised and adaptive learning software. Additionally, free data is also going to be provided to 5 lakh students.
The statement read, "Taking forward Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Digital India' campaign under the visionary leadership of chief minister, Haryana, the government is going to provide tablets and free data to 5 lakh students studying in government schools," the statement said.
The scheme by the Haryana government has been named, 'e-learning--Advance Digital Haryana Initiative of Government with Adaptive Modules'.
The tablet distribution function in going to be held on May 5 at Rohtak in the Maharishi Dayanand University’s Tagore Auditorium in the presence of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar among others.
"The tablets will be given to students of government schools of Rohtak city. The tablet distribution function will also start on this day in 119 blocks across the state. In other districts, ministers, MPs, MLAs, other guests, along with deputy commissioners and district administration will distribute tablets on the same day,"according to the statement.
This scheme will provide tablets, 2 GB of free data, and PAL (personalised adaptive learning) to all students studying inc Class 10 to Class 12 in government schools, as informed by the statement.
Free tablets will also be provided to all 33,000 PGTs (Postgraduate Trained Teachers) who teach these classes while tablets for Class 8 to Class 9 will be arranged in a phased manner later, the statement informed further.
