The Haryana government has asked Haryana schools to operate at different timings due to the heatwave.
The Haryana government has decided to adjust the schedules of all schools with effect from Wednesday due to the scorching weather that has been persisting in the state for several days.
Due to the extreme heat that has gripped the state, the Directorate of School Education has determined that all schools, both public and private, would operate from 7 am to 12 pm for Classes 1 to 12 beginning May 4, according to an order published on Monday by the Directorate of School Education.
Parents had requested that school hours be changed from 8 am to 2:30 pm to 7 am to 12 pm due to the extreme heat.
Maximum temperatures in most parts of Haryana have been hovering in the range of 41-45 degrees Celsius over the previous several days.
