Hansal Mehta marries longtime partner Safeena Husain after 17 years, says 'love prevails over all'

Hansal Mehta got married to his longtime partner Safeena Husain in California. He shared some glimpses from the beautiful wedding ceremony on social media.

Hansal Mehta is now married! The filmmaker tied the knot with his longtime partner, Safeena Husain, in an intimate ceremony in San Francisco, California. On May 25, Hansal took to social media to post some pictures from the beautiful wedding ceremony. While Hansal has delivered several award-winning films, Safeena works for education of girls.

Hansal Mehta is not hitched to Safeena Husain after 17 years. The filmmaker shared some pictures on his offical Instagram account in which the couple can be seen signing the wedding documents. Hansal wrote on Instagram, “So after 17 years, two children, watching our sons growing up and chasing our respective dreams we decided to get hitched. As always in life this was also impromptu and unplanned. Our vows however were truthful and but for this little ceremony they would never have been said. Ultimately love prevails over all else. And it has (sic)”

In the pictures, Hansal Mehta is seen wearing a brown blazer and a T-shirt. Meanwhile, Safeena Husain looks pretty in a pink salwar suit. The newly married couple also pose with their family members. Congratulations poured in from filmmakers Vishal Bhardwaj, Anubhav Sinha, actors Rajkummar Rao, Manoj Bajpayee and Nimisha Sajayan, and chef Ranveer Brar, whom Hansal directed recently in Modern Love Mumbai.

Hansal Mehta is currently working on multiple projects following the success of Scam 1993: The Harshad Mehta Story. He recently announced that the central role in Scam 2003: The Telgi Story had been cast. He is also working on Scoop, a new series for Netflix, and Captain India, a theatrical film starring Kartik Aaryan.
