The Centre on Tuesday, June 14, unveiled the Agnipath short-term recruitment scheme for the armed forces. Meant to be a reformative step, the scheme aims to infuse more young blood in the three services.
The Agnipath scheme will allow youngsters aged 17.5 to 21 to be inducted into any of the three services of the Army as “agniveers” for a period of four years.
