Govinda got scared after hearing Gadar Ek Prem Katha script, director Anil Sharma reveals

In a recent interview, director Anil Sharma revealed that Govinda got scared after hearing the script of Gadar. The film released on June 15, 2001.
Gadar Ek Prem Katha is among the most iconic films of Indian cinema and boasts a huge fan base. The film completed 20 years of release on June 15. While Sunny Deol played the lead role of Tara Singh in the film, it was rumoured that Govinda was the original choice for the film. However, in a recent interview, director Anil Sharma revealed that Govinda was never offered the role. He added that he had narrated the script of Gadar to Govinda once and the actor got scared. In a recent interview to Bollywood Hungama, Anil Sharma said that Govinda was not finalised for the role of Tara Singh in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. However, the filmmaker added that he did narrate the story to him. Anil said, "Govinda was never signed for Gadar Ek Prem Katha. I was directing him in Maharaja (1998). This is when I had narrated Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’s story to Govinda. Toh aisa nahi tha ki maine unko cast kiya tha. Balki woh toh Gadar: Ek Prem Katha ki kahani sunn ke darr gaye the (Not like I cast him in the film. In fact, he got scared after listening to the story of Gadar Ek Prem Katha)."More Related News
