District Forest officials have developed an eco-tourism project in the Krishnapuram area, about 2 km from Lambasingi of Chintapalli mandal in Alluri Sitharama Raju district.
As part of the project, a 25-tent accommodation was set up in a 20-acre pine plantation that resembles the Araku pinery. Visitors can experience a forest stay and enjoy several recreational facilities, such as a children’s play arena, campfires, and a walking track in a scenic location. The authorities have ensured that basic amenities like electricity and bio-toilets are provided at the site.
Y.V. Narasimha Rao, District Forest Officer, Chintapalli, said the eco-tourism project’s main motto is to provide employment to the locals while ensuring responsible tourism.
“We are also trying to tie up with the A.P. Forest Development Corporation (APFDC) so that the visitors can visit the coffee plantations and the forest here,” he said.
The project began last year and took shape after arranging electricity, geysers, toilets, and other facilities for visitors at Lambasingi.
The authorities initially set up a 25-tent accommodation and are now considering expansion plans. The department is also considering campaigns to raise tourists’ awareness of the area’s topology, forest cover, and conservation as part of the expansion.
