Good Friday in Belthangady featured solemn observances at St. Lawrence Cathedral, led by Bishop James Patteril, with thousands attending.
Good Friday was observed with solemnity and deep religious fervour at St. Lawrence Cathedral, the headquarters of the Belthangady Diocese, marking the crucifixion and sacrifice of Jesus Christ on Friday, April 3.
Bishop James Patteril, the Bishop of Belthangady Diocese, led the liturgical services. In his message to the faithful, he called upon everyone to deeply meditate on Christ’s teachings of love, sacrifice, and forgiveness, urging them to mirror these values in their daily lives.
The service was attended by several dignitaries, including: Fr. Mani (Vicar General of the Diocese), Fr. Kuriakose, Fr. Lawrence and others.
A large number of thousands of devotees from across the diocese participated in the prayer services and the Way of the Cross, commemorating the passion of Christ in an atmosphere of silent prayer and reflection.
