BJP has fielded KRM Radhakrishnan as the candidate for Tiruchendur Assembly constituency.
Having contested as an AIADMK candidate in the 2021 assembly elections and lost at the margin of around 25,000 votes, he is now entering the fray from the same constituency as a BJP nominee.
The incumbent MLA of Srivaikuntam constituency Oorvasi S. Amirtharaj has been renominated as Congress candidate for the constituency.
His father Oorvasi T.Selvaraj, had served as an MLA from the same constituency between 2006 and 2009. After his sudden demise, his son Mr. Amirtharaj became actively involved in politics.
In the 2021 assembly election Mr. Amirtharaj defeated seasoned politician and former AIADMK Minister S.P. Shunmuganathan of AIADMK by a margin of 17,372 votes.
