A video has surfaced from UP's Auraiya in which a group of people can be seen thrashing a lineman who reportedly went to cut the power connections of defaulters.
A lineman was thrashed by a group of 8 to 9 people after he reportedly went to cut the power connection of defaulters in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh. A video of the entire incident is doing rounds on social media.
The incident is of Achhalda intersection of Phaphund town in the district.
Talking about the incident, the accused, Vishal, who is a resident of Phaphund said that he along with a team of the electricity department had gone to the spot to cut the power connection of defaulters. However, the people present there were resisting the same. "A group of 8 to 9 people thrashed me because we cut off their power connection", Vishal said.
Meanwhile, Pradeep Kumar Police Officer said, it has been found that the lineman had gone to check the electricity connection of the defaulters. However, he was beaten up by a group of people. Necessary legal action is being taken.
