
Four Instagram and one Facebook pages deactivated

Mangaluru police get inflammatory content removed from Instagram and Facebook pages with Meta's help.
Four Instagram pages and a Facebook page were deactivated across the country, after Mangaluru city police presented to Meta the cases related to posting of inflammatory content in these pages that were registered in the city .
In a press release, the police said a case was registered in Urwa Police Station recently for inflammatory posts in Instagram pages of vhp_bajrangadal_ashoknagar and shankha_nada.
Similarly a case each was registered in Kavoor and Mangaluru South police stations for inflammatory posts in Instagram pages of dj_bharath_2008 and karaavali_official accounts respectively.
A case was also registered in Barke police station for inflammatory content in Facebook page of Ashiq Maicala.
All the cases were investigated by Cyber Economic and Narcotic Crime police. Following request by the Mangaluru City police, Meta deactivated the four pages across India.
So far a total of six Instagram pages and one Facebook page have been deactivated by Meta, the Mangaluru police stated.
