Foundation stone laid for a new fire services station in Manipal, enhancing emergency response for the community.
Yashpal Suvarna, MLA for Udupi, said on Monday that Manipal will have a fire and emergency services station soon, thus meeting the demand of people.
He spoke after laying the foundation stone for building a fire and emergency services station at Adarsha Nagar in Manipal at a cost of ₹3 crore.
The MLA said Manipal has hospitals, education institutes, industries, residential apartments, and commercial complexes. But it did not have a fire services station. Fire tenders were to be called from Udupi in cases of emergency. Once the station is made operational, the delay in the arrival of fire tenders from Udupi will be avoided.

Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu told the Rajya Sabha that the investigation into the fatal Air India AI171 crash in Ahmedabad is progressing at a “very good pace” and the report will be released very soon. The probe is being conducted by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau with full government support.
