
Former ISRO Chairman S. Somanath appointed as VC of Chanakya University

Eminent scientist S. Somanath appointed Vice-Chancellor of Chanakya University, Bengaluru, bringing expertise in space missions and leadership.
S. Somanath, eminent scientist and former Chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has been appointed Vice- Chancellor of Chanakya University, Bengaluru, a private university.
An official communication from the university stated that Mr. Somanath will assume office on Thursday, replacing the Founder Chancellor M.K. Sridhar. However, Prof. Sridhar will continue to be a part of the board of governors as a member.
The university has also reconstituted its board of governors, which will have Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan and T.V. Mohandas Pai of Aarin Capital, among others The Principal Secretary of Higher Education Department will be the ex-officio member.
