Farmers’ protest debate: Have anti-India MPs taken British parliamentary system hostage? asks advocacy group
India Today
An advocacy group representing British Hindus and Indians has questioned if the British parliamentary system has been taken hostage by anti-India elements.
A public advocacy group in the United Kingdom has written a letter to Catherine Mckinnell, chair of Petitions Committee in the British Parliament, to raise concerns regarding the “functioning of petitions committee” over the fact that Indian farm acts were given priority over more critical issues such as women’s rights, child’s rights and fighting poverty. The letter, written by Advocacy for British Hindus and Indians (ABHI), said that the British Indian community is concerned about the British Parliament was being “weaponised” to discuss a “foreign country’s issues”. “Has the UK parliamentary system been taken hostage by motivated interests pushing divisive, incendiary agendas in third countries - while their Parliament ignores the plight of 4.2 million children from the poorest families in the UK as their families struggle to afford a single meal?” asked the advocacy group in the letter.More Related News
