Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday, February 05, 2026, said digital governance has transformed the loan approval process in the state, enabling farmers to avail credit within five minutes through the e-Kisan Credit Card (e-KCC) system.
Addressing the State Credit Seminar and the release of the State Focus Paper 2026–27 at Lok Bhavan in Lucknow, Mr. Adityanath said earlier farmers had to wait for 25 days to a month to get loans through the Kisan Credit Card, but technology-driven reforms have drastically reduced the turnaround time.
He said the agriculture credit target for 2026–27 has been fixed at ₹3 lakh crore, about 13% higher than previous years.
The chief minister said the government and farmers are jointly exploring the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in agriculture.
Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Budget has announced an AI agriculture platform and Uttar Pradesh is moving rapidly in this direction.
On the occasion, several Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) were felicitated.
