At a public hearing organised by Rythu Swarajya Vedika, a non-governmental organisation (NGO) in Hyderabad, women from farming communities narrated devastating stories of suicides, crop loss, and debts. Rythu Swarajya Vedika organised a public hearing on Thursday inviting kin of Telangana farmers who died by suicide to participate. Many don't have houses of their own. Land titles are not transferred in their names, if land exists. Several are not getting pension. Govt doesn't even have a data system of the women while police records may have deceased male farmers names. Address these, @TelanganaCMO @KTRTRS pic.twitter.com/HRgDLXZOcJ
A large number of women turned up to narrate their stories on how crop loss and dwindling prices pushed their husbands to suicide.

Two years ago, former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina warned of an alleged plot by a 'white man' to establish a Christian state. In 2025, the Mizoram CM said Ukraine war veterans were using the state to enter Myanmar. The arrest of 7 foreign nationals by the NIA has prompted experts to suggest that the incidents might be connected.

Pradyut Bordoloi was a dyed-in-the-wool Congressi who vowed to never leave the party. The physical attack on him in 2025, and the Congress embracing "communal elements" pushed the Lok Sabha MP into joining the BJP. Bordoloi's exit from the Congress after three decades is significant for the party and Assam's politics.
