Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar’s pre-wedding functions are happening in full swing. After a fun mehendi last evening, the couple is set to have their sangeet ceremony today, February 18. Farhan and Shibani have been dating for more than four years. And, as IndiaToday.in reported earlier, the duo is saying no to both a nikah as well as a Maharashtrian wedding. Shibani Dandekar's friends threw a special mehendi party for her yesterday, February 17. Now, the shaadi squad is ready for an exciting sangeet ceremony. Shibani's friends have planned the songs and dance sequences. Rhea Chakraborty, who is a close friend of Shibani, will perform at the bride-to-be's sangeet. Also, a little birdie told us that Farhan will perform a special song for his lady love! We can’t wait for the pictures from the function.

Shibani's sisters, Anusha and Apeskha, and her close friends are in charge of the actress’s wedding festivities and the bachelorette party. Meanwhile, Farhan has had his stag party with his friends already.

Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar’s wedding will take place at Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi's Khandala farmhouse on February 19. The couple will exchange vows, instead of a traditional Marathi wedding ceremony or a nikah. This is something that the couple zeroed in on keeping each other's religious backgrounds and beliefs in mind. A source close to the couple tells IndiaToday.in, "Those who know Farhan and Shibani can vouch for the fact that they both have put their love for each other above their last names. It would have been a cliche for them to do a nikah and a Hindu wedding but instead what they have planned is truly beautiful."

Regarding the wedding, the source tells us, "They wanted to keep it as basic and simple as possible. The guests have also been asked to wear easy colours like pastels and whites for the wedding. There won’t be a nikah or a Marathi wedding. Instead, both have written down their vows which they will read out on the main wedding day, that is February 19."

Reportedly, a Mumbai reception has been planned by Farhan and Shibani for their industry friends.

Also, Farhan and Shibani’s wedding will be a family affair, as confirmed by the actor’s mom, Honey Irani. Only close friends and family members of the couple will in attendance. A friend of Farhan and Shibani had told IndiaToday.in, "Farhan and Shibani want to keep it as private as possible. They are not calling too many people. It will just be close friends and family. Shabana and Javed are very happy for Farhan and have given Shibani their blessings."
