Netizens have slammed Britney Spears for her new Instagram post about "looking thin" and "fat people".
Pop sensation Britney Spears is being slammed online for her new Instagram post. The singer seemingly body-shamed singer Christina Aguilera’s backup dancers.
Spears, who recently made her music comeback with a song with Elton John, took to the social media platform to share a quote that read, “I found there was only one way to look thin: hang out with fat people.”
In the caption of her Instagram post, Britney said that she wished she could have chosen her own backup dancers for live performances. “I wish I could have chosen the nannies for my children... my dancers... I mean if I had Christina Aguilera's dancers I would have looked extremely small,” she wrote.
Here’s a screenshot of her Instagram post:
“Don’t you think my confidence would have been a bit better if I could choose where I lived, ate, whom I called on the phone, dated and who was on stage with me! It’s hard sometimes now I see how much of my womanhood was stripped away at that time and every person sat back and didn’t say a thing,” she added.
“Anyway, I will be here talking about things people NEVER talked about,” she wrote while concluding her note.
Britney Spears’s fans and followers were not impressed with the thoughts she shared in her new Instagram post. They flooded the comments section to express dismay and asked her to delete the post. Several users also mentioned that the post was in “bad taste” and that it was not cool to body shame anyone.
