
Families heave a sigh of relief as 271 Indians return from Ukraine safely

Union minister Piyush Goyal, Maha cabinet minister Anil Parab and Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar welcomed the evacuees at the airport.
A total of 271 Indian nationals who were stranded in Ukraine returned to the country via Romania on Saturday.
Most of the students who reached Mumbai airport were from the western part of Ukraine, which is closer to the Romanian border.
Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, Maharashtra cabinet minister Anil Parab and Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar were present at the airport to welcome the students.
Indubai Bhalerao, a senior citizen from the Kandivali area of Mumbai, came to receive her granddaughter Kashmira while her grandson Aditya was still in Ukraine.

She said, "We are worried about my grandson. I hope he is able to return too." Bhalerao's son Harshad added, "My son somehow managed to reach a safe location. He was helped by the locals there. I hope that all the students who are in Ukraine come back safely. My daughter was helped by the embassy to reach India. The embassy is working in areas where war is not happening."
