At around 2:30 am, Martin was driving from the Akota area to his home in Puneet Nagar Society when he lost control of the steering wheel due to intoxication, resulting in the collision. The three vehicles—Kia Seltos, Hyundai Venue, and Maruti Celerio—were severely damaged.
Born in May 1972 in Baroda, Gujarat, Martin was a right-handed middle-order batsman who represented India in 10 ODIs for India between 1999 and 2001. In those games, he scored 158 runs at an average of 22.57 and a strike-rate of 47.73 with a top score of 39 against Pakistan in 2000 at the WACA in Perth.
