Amid renewed debate over the draconian UAPA and sedition laws, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju has said that yardsticks from western Europe cannot be applied to India, as the history and situation of each country is different.

Speaking at Aajtak Agenda 2021 on Saturday, Rijiju dismissed the charges by the Opposition and activists that freedom of expression was being undermined in India under the BJP-led NDA government.
