A day after Musk openly challenged Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, Tesla CEO changes his Twitter handle from Elon Musk to Elona Musk. Know the reason why.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk is in the news again but for a very funny reason this time. Just a day after Musk openly challenged Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, he decided to change his Twitter handle from Elon Musk to Elona Musk and Twitterati wonder why.
The name change came after the head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, called him "effeminate" and said that he needed to "pump up those muscles in order to change from the gentle (effeminate) Elona into the brutal Elon”. Elon Musk, now Elona on Twitter, shared a screenshot of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov's Telegram post on the microblogging site.
Kadyrov takes on Musk after the open challenge to Putin. In response to Musk's challenge, Kadyrov advised the Tesla CEO to not compare his strength to the Russian President. "Elon Musk, a word of advice. Don't measure your strength against that of Putin," Kadyrov’s Telegram post noted. "Vladimir Vladimirovich will look unsportsmanlike when he beats the hell out of you, a much weaker opponent," he added.
The head of the Chechen Republic further advised Musk to muscle up before he could take on the President of Russia and referred to him as "Elona". Kadyrov also said that Musk must train at the Russian Special Forces University, Akhmat Fight Club, and the Chechen State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company to prepare for the fight with Putin. Ramzan Kadyrov further mocked Musk and said, “you will return from the Chechen Republic a completely different person; Elon, that is, Elona”.
In response, Musk mocked back and thanked Ramzan Kadyrov for such an outstanding offer. “Thank you for the offer, but such excellent training would give me too much of an advantage," he wrote in a tweet. The SpaceX CEO also offered to fight with his left hand if the President of Russia is afraid of the open challenge. "If he is afraid to fight, I will agree to use only my left hand and I am not even left-handed," he said, signing off as Elona.
On Monday, Musk openly challenged Putin on Twitter. In the tweet, he said, "I hereby challenge Vladimir Putin to single combat”. “Stakes are Ukraine," he added. Additionally, in the same tweet trail, Musk wrote in Russian: "Do you agree to this fight?" tagging the official Twitter account of the Kremlin.
