
Eggs now part of mid-day meal in 7 districts in Karnataka; seers oppose move

Boiled eggs will now be served to students of government and government-aided schools in seven districts of Karnataka as part of the mid-day meal.
The Karnataka government has decided to include eggs in mid-day meals in at least seven districts of the state. This means that students of Classes 1-8 in government and government-aided schools in these districts will be served boiled eggs along with their meals.
Ballari, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura, and Yadgir in North Karnataka are the districts that will benefit from this scheme, the full cost of which will be borne by the central government.
