Economic Survey 2026 Live: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tables India’s Economic Survey in Parliament today. Follow The Hindu’s live updates.
The Economic Survey 2025-26 is set to be tabled during the Budget Session of Parliament on Thursday (January 29, 2026). The document is prepared by the Finance Ministry’s Department of Economic Affairs.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will table the Economic Survey in both Houses of Parliament during the Budget Session. This will be followed by a press briefing by CEA V.A. Anantha Nageswaran where he will explain the key economic trends.

The Economic Survey is an official report card on the government’s financial performance and the state of the economy during the year ending March 31. It also provides an outlook on future policy changes ahead of the Union Budget.
The Union Budget is scheduled to be presented on February 1 by Finance Minster Nirmala Sitharaman.

The U.S. has launched two investigations under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 against India and other economies to examine practices that may be ‘unreasonable or discriminatory and burden or restrict U.S. commerce’. One probe examines whether countries, including India, are using excess manufacturing capacity to export to the U.S. in a manner that hurts American businesses, while another looks at whether countries have taken ‘sufficient steps’ to prohibit imports of goods produced with forced labour.
