Sophie Choudry has revealed that Varun Dhawan had a crush on her. Here's how the singer reacted to Varun's revelation.

Varun Dhawan recently launched Sophie Choudry's new track, Gori Hai. The Bollywood actor joined Sophie via Instagram LIVE for the digital launch of the track. For the unaware, Gori Hai is a new version of Lata Mangeshkar and Shabbir Kumar's Gori Hai Kalaiyan from Aaj Ka Arjun. Coming back to Sophie's track, it received a good response from the audience. While exclusively talking about Gori Hai to IndiaToday.in, Sophie revealed that Varun had a crush on her. Wondering how the singer reacted to it? Read on!

Heaping praise on Varun Dhawan, Sophie told IndiaToday.in, "I say this unabashedly, he is one of the loveliest and most genuine people in the industry. He will always stand by his friends. But he will do it because he believes in it. And he did believe in the song. When he saw it, he was like 'What are we doing for the song? What's happening? What have you planned?'. He was pushing me for it more than I had thought about. I just went to ask him, 'Will you launch the song?'. And he said, 'What else can we do?' Varun is a special person and individual."

She went on to add, "Especially after Covid, people are much more aware of online. A digital launch is much more relevant. People don't have all the time in the world. When it is done in this way, it kind of feels personal also, because we are all on LIVE together. Also, I think the way the launch was done was very sweet. He said some sweet things. I didn't know he used to crush on me. He never told me that before. I was, anyway, so overwhelmed by the launch. And I was like' Really? You never told me'. It was the sweetest thing. He is just sweet and genuine."

Sophie Choudry further revealed how Varun Dhawan and Karan Johar reacted when they heard the track. "The first one was when Varun Dhawan saw it and he was like 'Oh my god! Not because it's you, I wanted to tell you this has a genuine chance. This is really good'. That felt good. Then Karan's [Johar] response was that it was one of his favourite songs and we had done full justice to it. That was really nice," the singer concluded.

Gori Hai was released on August 24.
