Check out the admission policy highlights for DU admissions 2022-23 which will be conducted through CUET.
Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh of Delhi University issued the DU admission policy for the 2022-23 academic year on Tuesday, stating that eligibility will be determined by the results of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), as per UGC’s mandate for India’s 45 core central universities.
Until last year, cut-off marks in Class 12 board exams were used to determine admission to Delhi University which led to sky-high cut-offs. That is likely to be history now.
Except for the School of Open Learning (SOL) and the National Collegiate Women's Education Board, Singh described the new admission procedure as "historic." He added that admission to all undergraduate programmes will be done through CUET.
Singh further stated that during the e-counselling session that would take place after the CUET results are out, they will admit 30% more students than the authorised seats so that in the event of cancellation, the seats will be equal.
"It is mandatory for all candidates to appear in CUET-2022, including those seeking admission to supernumerary seats. The eligibility criteria will be decided on the basis of marks obtained in CUET," he said.
According to Singh, 85 percent of the marks for admission will be collected from the CUET and the remaining 15% will be decided by the colleges in the 50 percent seats allotted for minority colleges.
He stated that admission to the non-reserved 50% seats will be solely based on the CUET.
