A shocking moment during Holi celebrations in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal has gone viral after a video showed a man standing inside a blazing Holika bonfire, leaving onlookers stunned.
The incident reportedly took place in Nandrauli village under the Gunnaur tehsil of Sambhal district during Holika Dahan, the traditional bonfire ritual held on the eve of Holi. The ceremony had drawn a large gathering of villagers, many of whom had assembled around the bonfire to perform rituals, circumambulate the flames, and roast sugarcane as part of the festive tradition.
As the fire burned brightly and people continued the celebrations, a man, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, suddenly stepped into the middle of the burning Holika. Witnesses said he stood amidst the flames and even appeared to be performing a parikrama around the fire, an act that immediately caused panic among the crowd.
Here's the video:
Several villagers watching the scene from nearby rooftops were the first to notice the man standing dangerously close to the flames. They quickly raised an alarm, prompting people near the bonfire to rush towards him.
A few young men from the crowd managed to approach the blazing fire and pulled the youth out before the situation could turn tragic. Moments after being dragged to safety, the man reportedly slipped away through the crowd and fled the spot.
