DRI seizes heroin worth Rs 2,000 crore at Navi Mumbai Port

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence(DRI) seized nearly 300 kg of heroin smuggled from Iran at Navi Mumbai Port. The value of this contraband consignment of heroin is estimated to be over Rs 2,000 crore.
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), in coordination with National Customs Targeting Centre and Nhava Sheva Customs seized about 300 kg of heroin from two containers at the Nhava Sheva Port in Navi Mumbai. Preliminary findings have suggested that the containers had originated from Iran and were imported to India from Afghanistan by Punjab’s Sandhu Exports. The contraband was being smuggled disguised as a talcum powder consignment.More Related News
