Eva, a 2-and-a-half year old Belgian Malinois, saved her owner from a mountain lion while hiking in Northern California.
Dogs are a person’s best friend and there is no doubt about that. There is a lot of proof of this on the internet and we would like to add one more to the long list. So, a woman was saved by her pet dog after they were attacked by a mountain lion while hiking. The pooch was badly injured but her courage has won hearts online.
Erin Wilson was hiking with her 2-and-a-half year old Belgian Malinois Eva near the Trinity River in Northern California. While on the stroll, a mountain lion lunged at the 24-year-old, scratching her shoulder through the jacket. “I yelled to Eva and she came running. And, she hit that cat really hard,” Erin told the Sacramento Bee.
Wilson’s husband informed SFGATE that Eva suffered two scull fractures, a punctured sinus cavity and severe damage to her left eye.
“This is Eva. She saved her human from a mountain lion. It pounced on them while they were hiking, and Eva fought it off. She’s spent a few days in the hospital, but is expected to make a full recovery and return home tonight. We are proud to award her our highest honour,” reads the caption of the post.
