Dia Mirza recounts trauma of son’s premature delivery, thanks him for holding on strong

Dia Mirza, who welcomed her son Avyaan Azaad in May 2021, wrote about the complications of his premature delivery. She also thanked him for teaching her the power of love.

Dia Mirza gave birth to her first child, son Avyaan Azaad, on May 14. He was born prematurely. In her Flashback Friday post today, January 28, the actress wrote about the trauma of her son’s premature delivery. She also thanked him for holding on strong.

Dia Mirza had shared a long post on how her baby boy Avyaan was a premature child. Now, she has recounted the trauma of that time and thanked her son for choosing her and being strong. Sharing throwback pictures from the time she was four-months pregnant, Dia wrote, “Becoming a mother is the best gift nature gave me Every moment has been filled with light and joy! From the time I first discovered I was pregnant, to every single moment since natures force has revealed itself to me in the most magical ways. And no, it wasn’t easy going through the trauma of a extremely premature delivery and subsequent complications (sic).”

She added, “But, the faith that you chose me Avyaan Azaad to be your mother was unshakable even when we went through our challenges. Thank you for choosing me my precious. Thank you for holding on so strong. Thank you for teaching me the power of love. You are love. #FlashbackFriday to a time when i was 4 months pregnant Papa @vaibhav.rekhi #SunsetKeDiVane (sic).”

Thanking the medical staff who took care of her son, Dia Mirza had shared a note about her premature delivery. A part of it read, "These words perfectly exemplify Vaibhav & my feelings right now. Our heartbeat, our son Avyaan Azaad Rekhi, was born on May 14th. Having arrived early, our little miracle has since then been cared for by tireless nurses and doctors in the Neonatal ICU (sic)."

Dia Mirza is married to businessman Vaibhav Rekhi.
