
Delhi weather update: IMD predicts partly cloudy sky, heatwave unlikely for few days

The weather office has predicted partly cloudy sky for the national capital on Sunday and the maximum temperature is likely to settle around 41 degrees Celsius. Check Delhi's weekly weather forecast here.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted partly cloudy sky for the national capital for the next two days in its latest weather bulletin. On Sunday, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 28.7 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average. The IMD said the maximum temperature is likely to settle at 41 degrees Celsius.
The humidity in the national capital was 61 per cent at 8.30 am, news agency PTI reported. The city's air quality was recorded in the poor category on Sunday morning with the AQI clocking 287 at 8 am, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data showed.
On Monday, the national capital is likely to witness partly cloudy sky and there is a possibility of thunderstorms. From Tuesday onwards, Delhi is expected to see mainly clear sky conditions with strong surface winds(speed 20-30 kmph) during the day.
The weather department also informed that heatwave conditions are unlikely for the next five days in the Delhi-NCR region. Partly cloudy sky, thunderstorms and light showers are expected over Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida and Gurugram regions in the next two days, the IMD had said on Saturday.
The maximum temperature in Delhi settled at 40.2 degrees Celsius on Saturday, almost a notch higher than what was recorded a day ago. The minimum temperature in the capital settled at 26.9 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, the weather office said the conditions are becoming favourable for monsoon onset over Kerala during the next 2 to 3 days. The conditions are also favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into some more parts of Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep area during the same period, it added.
