Delhi’s new excise policy: Bars permitted to operate till 3 am, walk-in experience at liquor vends

As per Delhi’s new excise policy, bars in hotels, clubs and restaurants can operate till 3 am. Additionally, every liquor outlet in the city will provide a walk-in experience to buyers.
Delhi’s Excise Policy 2021-22 was made public on Monday. Some reforms in the Delhi government’s new policy include permission for bars in hotels, clubs and restaurants to remain open till 3 am and the provision of a walk-in experience at all liquor vends in the city. The policy document notes that Delhi is the 28th most visited city in the world by foreign visitors. In India, the national capital holds the first rank in this list. Excise is an important source of revenue for the state. The new policy is, hence, aimed at boosting the city’s revenue as well as cracking down on the liquor mafia.More Related News
