India Today
Teachers of North and East MCD schools staged a protest demanding payment of salaries and pensions that have been due for the past three months.
Teachers from different municipal schools under the jurisdiction of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation and East Delhi Municipal Corporation staged a protest against the delay in their salaries and pensions. The teachers’ unions blocked the front gate of the east Delhi municipal corporation at the Patparganj area, demanding release of funds for their salaries.
"We are left in lurch for politics over the upcoming municipality elections. The Delhi government and the MCD both are not willing to sort things and release our salaries to continue politics on the issue," said Satendra Nagar, convenor, East MCD.
