Delhi crematorium builds 70 pyres on field to cope with number of daily deaths

The cremation ground at Sarai Kale Khan of Delhi has been burning corpses in such large numbers that now new platforms are being constructed at a park inside the crematorium to manage the influx of bodies.
Delhi has been recording over 20,000 daily cases of Covid-19 along with over 300 confirmed deaths. On Sunday, the city saw 350 Covid deaths. As Covid-19 wreaks havoc and the toll mounts in Delhi, the crematoriums have started expanding to accommodate more bodies. The cremation ground at Sarai Kale Khan of Delhi has been burning corpses in such large numbers that now new platforms are being constructed at a park inside the crematorium to manage the influx of bodies. At present, 20 more pyres are being built at the park inside Sarai Kale Khan crematorium while another 50 pyres are being prepared at another part.More Related News
