Delhi court shootout: Documents reveal authorities had prior knowledge of security lapses
India Today
Documents accessed by India Today reveal that the Rohini court in Delhi had acknowledged the “need to augment security arrangements”, but little to nothing was done to plug the lapses.
In response to an affidavit by the Delhi High Court against a writ petition filed on security breaches in Delhi courts, the Rohini court had acknowledged the “need to augment security arrangements in Rohini Court Complex”. However, little to nothing was done until the September 24 shootout where one under-trial prisoner was attacked by two assailants in the garb of lawyers.
The response, which has now been accessed by India Today, reveals that requirement for additional CCTV cameras inside the court premises have also been pending since 2017.
