India Today
Hemang Badani has been appointed head coach of Southern Brave for the 2026 season of The Hundred, with Ian Bell serving as his assistant. The Brave will start their campaign on July 22 against Welsh Fire in Southampton.
Hemang Badani, currently the head coach of Delhi Capitals, has been appointed as the men’s head coach of Southern Brave for the 2026 season of The Hundred. Badani will replace Adi Birrell and will work alongside former England batter Ian Bell, who has been named assistant coach for the upcoming campaign.
The partnership already exists within the Delhi Capitals setup, where Bell was recently appointed as Badani’s deputy ahead of the 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League.
The move also reflects the growing influence of IPL-linked franchises in overseas leagues. Southern Brave are partly owned by the GMR Group, co-owners of Delhi Capitals, which holds a 49 per cent stake in the Hundred franchise.
