As Deepika awaits the release of her upcoming film, Gehraiyaan, she revealed her husband, Ranveer’s thoughts about it. During a recent interview, the actress said the Gully Boy actor feels Gehraiyaan is her most intense film since Tamasha.
Gehraiyaan, which is set to release on February 11, is about complex relationships in the modern world. Deepika is essaying the role of Alisha Khanna, opposite Siddhanth Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday and Dhairya Karwa. During a recent interview with Indian Express, the actress revealed, after watching the film, her husband, Ranveer Singh, told her that Gehraiyaan is her most intense post-Tamasha (2015), in which she was seen opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
While Deepika Padukone was talking about the complexity and intensity of Gehraiyaan, she was quoted saying, “Ranveer (Singh) was saying ( Gehraiyaan looks like your most intense film) this to me yesterday right after he watched the film.” The actress smiled and added her character has elements from both Shoojit Sircar’s Piku and Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha, because of the way they have been written.
After releasing Doobey, the makers of Gehraiyaan dropped the film’s title track on February 1. Sung by Lothika, the song featured the star cast, Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday and Dhairya Karwa. The title track is a soulful song that made us fall in love with its tunes. It was penned and supervised by Ankur Tewari.
Gehraiyaan is a relationship drama about complex modern relationships. Other than Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, the film also features Dhairya Karwa, Naseeruddin Shah, and Rajat Kapur. The film has been jointly produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios, in association with Jouska Films.
