David and Victoria Beckham are celebrating their son Brooklyn's birthday, despite their public estrangement.
On Wednesday, March 4, the 50-year-old ex-soccer star took to Instagram stories to share two photos of Brooklyn, 27, as a toddler, then a teen, with the captions "Happy Birthday Bust" and "We love you." Brooklyn's mother, the former Spice Girls member and fashion mogul, also posted old family photographs of him, with the caption: "Happy 27th Birthday Brooklyn, I love you so much."
Their birthday wishes come amidst a public rift between Brooklyn and the remainder of the Beckham clan.
Earlier this year, Brooklyn, the eldest son of David and Victoria, 51, publicly split with his parents, taking to social media to decry their treatment of him and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.
"Inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into," Brooklyn wrote in the lengthy statement. "My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press or manipulation. All we want [is] peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family."
