NEW YORK — Daniel Radcliffe is learning from the best.
The British charmer returns to Broadway this spring in Duncan Macmillan’s “Every Brilliant Thing,” an uplifting one-man show about empathy, depression and resilience. Radcliffe has appeared in numerous plays and musicals – winning a Tony Award in 2024 for Stephen Sondheim’s “Merrily We Roll Along” – but this marks his first time taking the stage completely solo.
To prepare, he’s been studying standup specials by comic Tracy Morgan, his new friend and co-star in NBC sitcom “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins.”
“There’s something to watching how relaxed and at ease Tracy is in those situations,” Radcliffe, 36, recently told USA TODAY in a joint interview with Morgan. “Honestly, I’ve just moved from the stage of being super excited about it to just being absolutely terrified.”
For his part, Morgan says he learned how to work a crowd by watching comedy great Eddie Murphy, as well as martial arts icon Bruce Lee.
